About The Plan Room

The Plan Room is a monthly brief from Mark Lynn Design for the builders and developers we work with in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

Each issue collects what changed the month before: zoning and code amendments, plan review and permitting changes, stormwater and utility rules, Planning Commission and Council actions, and the dates worth planning around. Every item says in a few lines what it means for a project, then links to the public record it came from.

How an item reads

Each item names its source, its date and its status: adopted, proposed or study. A proposal is never presented as a rule. When something has not been decided, the item says so.

Who we are

Mark Lynn Design has drawn 2,600 homes across Middle Tennessee since 1991, and about thirty a month come through the studio today. The firm works in two divisions: Design, at the Sunnywood Drive studio, and Mark Lynn Interiors, at Ampersand Studios on 16th Avenue South. Separate disciplines, one standard of care.
